The bisp&d perspective on the arrival of the first foldable iPhone

In today's technological landscape, the announcement of a mobile device with a revamped form factor always represents a time of great excitement. As a technology shop and laboratory in Piombino, we closely follow the evolution of the mobile market to help you understand new developments without solely succumbing to marketing hype. The arrival of the iPhone Duo marks Apple's official entry into the foldable device segment, introducing unique engineering solutions that redefine the concept of portability and visual space.

The practical context: dual screen and internal architecture

The new smartphone enters the market with a dual nature based on different displays depending on whether the device is closed or open:

• 5.4-inch external screen: designed to offer compact and pocket-friendly use, ensuring an extended yet manageable visual surface.
• Foldable internal display: represents the true expanded workspace, designed for multimedia, gaming, and productivity on the go.
• Precision hinge: a mechanical element specially studied to ensure fluidity and durability over time with every opening and closing.

Inside, power management relies on a dual-battery architecture designed to support the entire hardware ecosystem, coordinated by the A20 Pro processor and the advanced artificial intelligence features integrated into the iOS operating system.

What really changes in daily use

The transition to a foldable design is not limited to changing screen sizes, but introduces new ways of interacting with the device. Among the most prominent features are:

• Advanced multitasking functionalities such as Split View to display multiple applications side by side simultaneously.
• An advanced camera system, comprising 48-megapixel Fusion main sensors, ultra-wide-angle optics with macro capabilities, and a front-facing camera positioned beneath the internal screen.
• Responsive software interfaces capable of adapting in real time to the folding and rotation movements of the chassis.
• StandBy mode extended to both the external and internal screens, turning the device into a fixed information hub.

Who this device is for

This model is primarily aimed at professionals, creators, and tech enthusiasts looking for a hybrid tool capable of packing the performance of a pocket-sized tablet inside a traditional smartphone. It is a solution designed for those who need more viewing space without sacrificing the convenience of use on the move.

What to check before buying

Before proceeding with the purchase of a device in this category, from our laboratory counter we always recommend evaluating a few fundamental aspects:

1. Application compatibility: check how your everyday apps handle format changes and the transition between the external and internal screens.
2. Maintenance management: consider the importance of dedicated insurance coverages for flexible displays, which require special care compared to traditional rigid panels.
3. Purchase and trade-in options: evaluate trade-in valuation programs and available installment payment options to cushion the initial investment.

Useful conclusion

The iPhone Duo represents an important evolutionary milestone for the mobile sector, combining materials engineering and artificial intelligence into a single product.
